Eclipse — Definition

Eclipses come in pairs or triplets and arrive roughly twice a year, in eclipse seasons. A solar eclipse happens at a new moon when the Moon blocks the Sun; a lunar eclipse happens at a full moon when the Earth's shadow falls on the Moon. Astrologically, eclipses are read as accelerated turning points — events that compress what might otherwise take months into days. They are usually felt strongest by people whose natal placements sit close to the eclipse degree.
