Sextile — Definition

A sextile is a cooperative aspect — less powerful than a trine, but more active. It links planets in compatible but different elements, like fire and air or earth and water. Sextiles are read as opportunities that show up if the person reaches for them; the energy is available but not delivered automatically. They often appear in the chart as gentle openings rather than dramatic events.

Example

A Venus sextile Mars in synastry often shows up as a relationship with easy chemistry that still needs initiative to actually move.
